Kitchenette

what i got: turkey meatloaf with mashed potatoes, a small peanut butter filled cupcake, and shared a lemon meringue pie for $20 (after tip)

good: meatloaf was soft and flavorful but not too heavy on the palate. decor was eclectic and cute.

pity: cupcake was too stiff, while the meringue pie's crust was too crumbly.

deliciousness: meatloaf (7.5), cupcake (6.5), pie (6.5)

Pisticci

what i got: spaghetti with meatballs for $14 (after tip)

good: noodles were cooked just right with a firm bite, sauce was absolutely gorgeous. it was thick and almost creamy. i wonder if it could have been the cheese that gave it that effect.

pity: meatballs were not flavorful enough.

Massawa

what i got: lamb dish but i can't remember the name

good: felt like an authentic experience since they recommend we eat with our hands. lamb was pretty unique.

pity: not satisfying enough. should have ordered the lamb combo which had two kinds of lamb, instead of just 1 kind for my order. also, my lamb dish was cooked with injera, which had way too much carbs for my liking.

Golden Unicorn

what i got: dim sum for 5 people for about $60

good: large selection of authentic dimsum, restaurant was clean and decor fell on the more upscale side, servers was also very friendly. definitely must try the durian pastry!

Deluxe Diner

food: turkey burger with onion rings, drizzled with bbq mayo and greens for $9.50

good: mayo was nice, there were 3 decently sized onion rings given and the mayo was quite flavorful. patty was tasty and lean also. healthy portions that won't make a person too full.

pity: patty was too dry (would have preferred it like the whole foods patty).

Burger Joint

what i got: hamburger done medium-rare, tomatoes, lettuce and ketchup ($7) and fries ($3.50)

good: this is a classic hamburger with no fancy-pancy stuff. the patty tasted smoky and was slightly crusty from the grilling, but the juice was still retained in the most parts of the patty. fries were freshly fried and skinny, which reminded me of macdonald's.

pity: center of patty was a little dry.
